We Are Ghost

Four rooms in Toronto, each with one hour and one way out

We build rooms you think your way out of. No brute force, no actors grabbing you in the dark, no puzzle that needs a flashlight you weren't given. Bring a team, a birthday group, or two people with something to prove.

The rooms

Escape rate is the share of teams that got out in time over the last twelve months. Lower is harder. We publish it because a difficulty rating out of five tells you nothing.

The Lighthouse Keeper

The keeper walked out in the winter of 1911 and never came back. The lamp still turns. You have until the next supply boat to work out what he was hiding under the floor.

60 minutes2–5 playersMechanical locks, no electronics

Escape rate

38%

Our most-played room. Good first one.

Night Shift at the Grand

A hotel that closed mid-renovation and reopened under a different name. You are the only two staff on the overnight desk, and the register from 1974 has today's date in it.

75 minutes3–6 playersTwo rooms, one key between them

Escape rate

24%

Hardest room we run. Bring six.

Signal from Hollow Lake

A community radio station picks up a broadcast on a frequency nobody is licensed for. The tape is dated next Thursday. Find out who is transmitting before the station is shut down.

60 minutes2–4 playersLots of listening, light on crawling

Escape rate

52%

The one to start with if it's your first.

The Understudy

Opening night, and the lead never arrived. Her dressing room is locked from the inside, the prompt book has pages that were never in the script, and the curtain goes up in an hour.

Best for office groups and big parties.

How it works

  1. Pick a room and a time Email us with the room, the date and how many people are coming. We hold the slot for 24 hours while you sort out who's actually free.
  2. Arrive fifteen minutes early You get a short briefing, somewhere to leave your coat and bag, and a chance to ask how the hints work before the clock starts.
  3. One hour, hints on request A game master watches on camera and sends a hint when you ask for one. Asking costs you nothing but the seconds it takes to read it.

Good to know

  • Nothing needs force. If a puzzle feels like it wants muscle, it isn't the puzzle. Everything opens with information.
  • Doors are never locked on you. You can leave any room at any moment, and the exit is marked from the inside.
  • Twelve and up. Under sixteen needs an adult in the room. The Grand and The Understudy suit adults better.
  • One room is step-free. Signal from Hollow Lake has no crawling, no stairs and no low doorways. Tell us what you need and we'll say honestly whether we can do it.
  • Private by default. You book the whole room. We never put your group with strangers.
